About the Assistant Instructor

Turo Randy Moore (Mariah's Dad), is the current 5 Time World Champion in Filipino Martial Arts Weapons Forms and Full Contact Stick Fighting. He has actively dedicated the past 13 years to his martial arts training, and has over 8 years of martial arts coaching and instructional experience. Randy has earned a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Filipino Martial Arts (The Jornales System), and has a Brown Belt in Kyokashin Karate. When Mariah was a child, he religiously took her to all of her martial arts classes - then one day he decided to take the plunge and start training himself! Since that day, Randy has been devoted to Martial Arts and the Martial way of life and loves sharing the art with others.

This Father-Daughter duo brings a unique and dynamic experience to teaching unlike any other! Both bring a different mindset and way of looking at different situations, thus giving a more comprehensive take on each movement/drill. Mariah and Randy have traveled the world together training, competing, and teaching since Mariah was only 11 years old - this gives them another incredibly unique edge to teaching and coaching!

About the Jornales System

Mariah teaches the Arnis Sikaran Jornales System founded by Grand Master Bong Jornales. His senior student of over 16 years, Mariah has been hand picked by Grand Master Bong to continue his legacy and teach the art of the Jornales System to the next generations. This is a honor that Mariah does not take lightly. She is determined to show people the true art of the Philippines and help people grow in body, mind, and spirit through the art. While Filipino Martial Arts was originally a combat art created for survival, Grand Master Bong hand tailored this style to be a sport that is effective, yet safe for all ages. This instrument based system is truly one of a kind!

The Jornales System is a style of Filipino martial art that utilizes an assortment of weaponry, empty-hand, kicking, and grappling techniques. It finds its basis in the traditional Filipino martial arts culture, primarily using the Arnis, Kali, or Eskrima (rattan sticks).

The Jornales System, which was founded over 40 years ago by Grandmaster Bong Jornales, has a strong sense of tradition, yet integrates various other styles of martial art, and is a progressive and ever-changing art form.

While the Jornales System has practical application as a form of self-defense and sport (competitively active in international, as well as national tournaments), the format of the classroom experience provides ritual for a healthier, well-balanced lifestyle.
